Charlie Cashman is a resident and sentry for Fort Kohai, he will hire the player to clear out a group of looters in a fortified position at Devil's Gulley, upon asking for payment however, Cashman will say "Feel like I wanna-" and attempt to eat the player, forcing them to put him down. Puzzled by his sudden feral behavior and assuming he was infected, the player character will be prompted to inform a Fort Kohai resident of his death, upon hearing the news the resident will state that he was only a new arrival that no one knew, and if their approval of you reaches a certain point they might say that they had always felt something off about Charlie.
It is later revealed that he might have been experimented on by FEMA in an attempt to create a vaccine, infecting him with the invisible strain which caused his animalistic behavior.

- Despite on the ask to join section stating there's a possibility of him joining once the mission that he assigned is finish, he's unable to join afterwards due to him being infected and put down.
